Introduction
Yoga and yogic endeavors have fascinated curious minded, as well as spiritually inclined, from Varanasi to Vancouver. But the essential reason behind yogic endeavor has been ignored by many who hold it in high esteem and equate its practice with religious or spiritual purpose.
The essential purpose of Yoga is to unite (with the Source). This book is not an attempt to explain Yoga or its mysteries. Rather, this is an attempt to understand life from the amazing, and sometimes cryptic, discussion between (Gur) Nanak and the greatest Jogis (Yogis in Panjabi) of his era. However, this is not merely an attempt to understand the said discussion out of a sense of curiosity. This is an attempt to explore practical, workable ways to transcend (perceived) human limitations. Note: I invite you to engage my interpretation with an open mind. You may be confronted. However, should you choose to introspect, there is much for you to gain. My intention is to offer a space for honest, direct and practical inquiry into living powerfully. Gaurav Singh |

This effort is my interpretation of the amazing dialog between (Gur) Nanak and Yogic masters (16th century, Gregorian). Traditionally, this discussion has been interpreted within a very narrow way and it has largely been clothed in a South Asian flavor. But as discerning seekers realize, Nanak's message is universal and timeless. Therefore, my interpretation seeks to make available the power of Gurbani (Universally Enlightening Word) in a global context, that strips the South Asian particularity from the language, and to distinguish principled ways to transform human being.
More importantly, I aim for this larger vision to have real and personal value for you, the reader. |
